OUR FUNDRAISERS

This year saw the return of the very successful 100kms in July Challenge and the launch of our inaugural Big Bold Swim. People throughout Australia responded positively to these events and to our other community-based events like the long-running Tee Off for Breast Cancer Trials. Record participation from our wonderful community of fundraisers led to significant funds raised for our research program.

There was a plethora of activities taking place this year. Our fundraisers donned their sneakers and swimming caps for our challenge events, tee-d off at their local clubs, and hosted their own fundraisers small and large for family, friends and colleagues.

100km in July Challenge

July marked the return of the 100km in July Challenge, which saw over 6,000 people nationwide commit to walking 100kms during the month of July.

With every step they took they inspired their friends and families to donate, raising a staggering $545,000 for our research program and bringing hope to those impacted by breast cancer.

Natalie (pictured at right) was undergoing breast cancer treatment when she and her loved ones participated in the 100kms in July Challenge.

Sue participated in the 100km Challenge in memory of her cousins, Ailsa and Mary.

Big Bold Swim

In February we dived right in by launching the inaugural Big Bold Swim. Over 1,300 participants made a big splash and swam 10, 15 or 30 kms during March.

Donning their pink swimming caps, they stood out on beaches and in pools nationwide as they swam their laps and raised $495,000.

We thank everyone who participated, many of whom were going through breast cancer treatment or supporting loved ones currently going through breast cancer.

Melisa, was one of three members of Team Mermaid Boobies who raised over $10,000 during The Big Bold Swim. She was undergoing chemotherapy whilst taking on the challenge.

Laura and her daughter Alexis swam 58kms between them for the 58 people diagnosed with breast cancer every day in Australia. Laura was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2023.

Pink Champions

We thank our wonderful Pink Champions who walked, ran, held trivia nights, gala balls, camping weekends and even hit the pool for aqua aerobics this year raising significant funding along the way. Here are some examples of our wonderful fundraisers.

57 Pink Post Drops Fundraiser

Tamlyn Gresser, pictured with her mum, was just 33 years of age when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Tamlyn created the “57 Pink Post Drops” fundraising and education initiative.

Whilst completing her chemotherapy treatment, Tamlyn, her mum and closest friends, hand delivered breast check shower cards into 57 letterboxes across Sydney every day throughout the month of September.

They reached 1,710 households and raised $6,968 for Breast Cancer Trials.

Since starting Race For A Cure in 2017, the Kavich family have now raised close to $250,000 for Breast Cancer Trials research.

The Australian Women’s Health Diary

In its 27th year, the 2025 edition of The Australian Women’s Health Diary had another successful year raising net funds of $865,000 and increasing sales by 3% to the previous year.

The diary has now reached a significant milestone – $20 million in profit raised for our research program since the first edition in 1999!

This would not be possible without our loyal and growing customer base, many of whom have been buying the diary for over 20 years.

The funding this diary raises has been critical to supporting our clinical trials research program over the past 27 years, the outcomes of which are today saving and protecting lives from breast cancer.

Special thanks to The Australian Women’s Weekly which has helped to produce every edition, to Lisa Wilkinson our Diary Ambassador for her personal support, and to our dedicated team who produce the diary each year.

We also thank our distribution partners – newsagents nationally, Woolworths and Australia Post.
